Cape West Media Solutions launched

INVERNESS: A new business focusing on western Cape Breton is up and running.

Owner Francis A. MacDonald launched his own small business, Cape West Media Solutions. The business went operational on October 1.

After finishing a 20-year nursing career, MacDonald hopes to aggregate his numerous technical skills to provide services to other small business in western Cape Breton. He is a certified computer specialist and has a background in video production.

Some 20 years ago, he pioneered important film documentary work on Gaelic culture in Cape Breton that was lauded by CBC Television as “quite insightful and very roots orientated.” A provincial newspaper stated that his film documentary exploring the roots of Cape Breton Fiddling, “could do for Cape Breton Fiddling what the late Helen Creighton did for the folklore of Nova Scotia.”

“I love all things cultural, creative and technical,” states MacDonald. “I hope to draw on this and combine my skills and experience to provide some unique services to the growing business community here in beautiful western Cape Breton Island.”

MacDonald is available now to discuss any needs the public may have for their business or organization and is excited about working with people and groups to discover and implement media solutions to help their business grow.

Services include: computer troubleshooting, repair and IT consulting (A-plus Certified Technician); tutoring in computer applications (general applications and customized training); media and multi-media production for small business (promotional videos for social media); and platforms, event documentation, in house training DVDs, video testimonials, etc.
