Cocaine found during vehicle stop

RCMP lay trafficking charges

WHYCOCOMAGH: A 27-year-old Port Hawkesbury man has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

On Tuesday, the Inverness/Richmond Street Crime Enforcement Unit, assisted by Inverness RCMP, conducted a vehicle stop on Trans-Canada Highway 105 in Whycocomagh, searched the vehicle and found cocaine.

As a result, Michael Warren Ryan was arrested without incident and charged. He was released from police custody on conditions to appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on July 29.

The investigation is ongoing.
