Cummings, Percy James – Age 78 years of Kempt Road, Richmond Co. passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 in the QE II Health Sciences Centre V.G. Site, Halifax. Percy was born in Arichat; he was a son of the late James and Effie (MacLean) Cummings. Percy was a welder by trade. He was a member of the West Bay United Church; he was an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 47, Grand Anse. Percy enjoyed playing cards in Marble Mountain, he loved hunting. For a pastime he played Pogo on the internet. The greatest joy in Percy`s life was having his family around him. He is survived by daughters, Phyllis (Joey) LeBlanc, Calgary; Donna (Alfred) Olsen, Lower Sackville; son, James, Whitehorse;  sister, Florence (Eddie) Malcolm, Kempt Road; brother, Herby, Kempt Road;  grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael, Matthew, Ashley, Devin and Emma; great-grandson, Landon and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Shelia (O’Brien), and his sister, Irene Jeremias. Visitation was held Wednesday, February 21, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service was held on Thursday, February 22, at 2 p.m. in Black River United Church with Rev. Donna Lovelace officiating. Burial at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Percy made be made to Kempt Road Cemetery Fund. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the
