HALIFAX: A woman facing fraud related charges is set for sentencing.

Dawn Marie Johnson pleaded guilty to charges of forgery and fraud over $5,000 during an appearance in Halifax Supreme Court on August 24.

In 2014, Antigonish RCMP announced charges of theft over $5,000, forgery, uttering a forged document, and fraud over $5,000 against Johnson. Officers, stated a release from the Antigonish detachment, received a complaint on December 3, 2013 of misappropriated funds from the Paq’tnkek First Nation.

The investigation uncovered a misappropriation of funds in the neighborhood of $350,000 between 2010 and 2013. Police arrested Johnson on September 24, 2014.

Johnson is set to be sentenced on the two charges on November 10 in Antigonish Supreme Court. She is also expected to answer to the remaining charges on that date.
