PORT HAWKESBURY: The Port Hawkesbury Judo Club visited Bridgewater on the weekend of May 11 in order for brothers Brian and John Langley to throwdown with some of the best judokas in the province.
Brian took a silver medal, and John came home with a knowledge of what it’s like to tussle with bigger athletes.
“John was competing in higher belt class and at a higher weight,” said instructor Wayne Reynolds. “They try to stick with the category the kid is in but sometimes, to give him competition, they need to bump them up. You learn that way.”
“Brian won three and lost in the finals, so he took silver.”
