MACINTYRE Catherine Elizabeth 75, of Queensville, passed away March 3, 2018 at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born in Sugar Camp, she was a daughter of the late John and Murdena (MacLeod) MacDonald. Liz spent many years working as a cook at many (if not all) local restaurants and developed many lifelong friends along the way.  She also worked as a telephone operator in her early years.  She was a walking encyclopedia of family history, and never forgot a birthday.  Her greatest joy was making biscuits in the kitchen with her grandchildren.  She loved Scottish fiddle music, and didn’t like to miss a Bingo game. She is survived by her children Murdena, Port Hawkesbury; Reggie (Melinda), Lower Sackville; Kenney, Port Hawkesbury; Cyril, Lower Sackville; Andrew (Jessica), Dartmouth and Charlene (Linden), Lexington; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brother Mike MacInnis (Rosemary) Lower Sackville, along with many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by her Husband Donald, children John, Allan and Ronald (in infancy); siblings Twin Sister Charlotte, Edward, Mary, Joyce, Alexander, Malcolm, Allan Proctor, and Jean and John (in infancy). Resting in Green’s Funeral Home, 507 Bernard Street, Port Hawkesbury visitation took place on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm; funeral mass was held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Daniel MacDonald presiding, burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Milford Haven Home and Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home for their kind and loving care given to our Mother, and to all of the Continuing Care workers.
