Man charged with cocaine trafficking

MELLVILLE: A 25-year-old Inverness County resident is facing cocaine trafficking charges after police searched his home last weekend.

On June 8, Inverness District RCMP and the Inverness/Richmond District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit made an arrest and searched a home in Melville, just northeast of Port Hawkesbury.

As a result of the search, police seized cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Steven Leslie MacEachern, 25, of Melville was charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and two charges of breach of recognizance. MacEachern was remanded into custody for court and appeared today in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court.
