Victor Gerald Marchand of Colonsay, SK passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2018.  Victor was born on September 25, 1947, the eldest son of Gerald & Lucy Mae Marchand in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  He was raised in Petit de Gras, Cape Breton, NS where he grew up playing and eventually coaching baseball.  At the young age of 13, Victor started working as a fisherman and when he was 21, started working as an insulator until 1987, when a workplace accident occurred and he became disabled and unable to continue working. Victor was a proud husband to his wife Faye, and father to Dean, Lorne, Wayne, and Phoebe. He will be sadly remembered by his children and their families, brothers, sisters, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.Victor was predeceased by his wife Faye, his parents Gerald & Lucy Mae, brother Howard, and sister Darlene. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any charity of your choice. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 in Cruikshank’s Halifax Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St. Mass will be held in Saint Benedict Parish, 45 Radcliffe Drive, Halifax on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 10:30 am.  Burial to follow in Oakridge Memorial Gardens.
