Masked suspect takes off with $3,000 in electronics

PORT HAWKESBURY: During the early morning hours of March 12, an individual broke into an electronics store along Reeves Street.

Discovered the morning after with its front door smashed, the Bell Aliant location, which is less than a kilometer away from the RCMP detachment in Port Hawkesbury, had a number of cell phones and tablets stolen.

Dave Morin, an operations non-commissioned officer with the RCMP, told The Reporter the thief made off with nearly $3,000 worth of high-end electronics.

“It’s still under investigation, so we can’t comment too much more than that,” he said. “We’re still active with the investigation so any information someone may have with that, or anybody that may be involved, we’d definitely like to hear from them.”

Inverness District RCMP is asking for assistance from the public to identify the suspect, and even though the photo they released from security cameras isn’t the best quality, they believe someone may know something. Anyone with information about this theft is asked to call them at 902-625-2220.
