L’ARDOISE: The team at the Dr. Kingston Memorial Community Health Centre is pleased to welcome Denise Martell as coordinator for prevention of senior abuse and victimization.
A native of Richmond County, Martell returns as a seasoned public relations practitioner of 25 years. She has worked closely with community groups, residents, business leaders and elected officials, providing assistance with media relations, communication, marketing and project management.
“We are confident Denise’s skill set and enthusiasm for community development will result in positive changes for seniors who are abused, neglected or victimized.” said Dorothy Barnard, board chair, Dr. Kingston Memorial Community Health Centre.
“Denise will be meeting with seniors groups, community influencers, families and elected officials to develop approaches to help address senior abuse.”
Through RCMP Family Violence Initiative funding, Martell will complete crucial first steps in securing a permanent Seniors Safety Officer in Richmond County.
“I am excited to be part of the work being done at the Dr. Kingston Memorial Community Health Centre and so happy to have the opportunity to return to my childhood community,” said Martell.
Martell can be reached at 902-587-2800 or by e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org. All messages will be forwarded to Martell because she will be moving her office throughout the county to make it more convenient for Richmond County seniors to meet with her.
