No information on suspect in child luring case

PORT HAWKESBURY: Police did not receive any information on possible suspects in a case involving a man approaching a young woman recently.

Port Hawkesbury RCMP reported a man approached a 12-year-old female asking if she wanted a ride near Elm Court in the Tamarac Heights sub-division on February 14. A release from the RCMP stated the girl declined twice before the man left.

Police described the man is as white, 30-35 years-old, with a somewhat deep voice, no facial hair and he appeared to be fairly tall, wearing a dark grey or black hoodie with the hood down. He was driving a small grey four-door car with dark tinted back windows.


On February 26, RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Jennifer Clarke described the matter as “being concluded,” noting police did not receive any info on possible suspects and there were no other incidents involving a vehicle matching this description in the area.

“Of course the file would be re-opened if new information became available,” stated Clarke.
