PORT HAWKESBURY: The RCMP has determined that threats made at a local high school were unsubstantiated.

Shortly before 1 p.m. on March 1, Inverness District RCMP responded to a call of threats that had been received at a local high school. RCMP officers worked with school staff and determined there was no risk to public safety.

The RCMP said the student who made the threats may be facing charges at a later date. The investigation is ongoing and the RCMP is working closely with the Strait regional school board to determine the most appropriate course of action.
