GUYSBOROUGH: Municipal council is saying thanks to the province’s power provider for recent storm reaction times.
During last week’s regular monthly meeting of council for the Municipality of the District of Guysborough, Warden Vernon Pitts commended Nova Scotia Power for its response to recent inclement weather.
“I know where I’m living in Lundy, district 6, we were out for about an hour,” Pitts said of losing power.
“It was very minimal. You look at other areas in the province. Some of them were out for days. I think our longest time within the municipality was less than 10 hours, I believe. To me that is phenomenal.”
Pitts said this proves maintenance and upkeep on and near power lines yields positive results. He also said the move to make a double circuit helped as well.
By way of letting NSP know their appreciation, council voted to send a letter of thanks to the company for their preparations and response time during the recent inclement weather.
