A Marble Mountain tradition continued on New Year’s Day as 20 people hit the Bras d’Or Lake for the community’s annual Polar Bear Swim.

The New Year’s Day Polar Bear Swim saw 20 people brave the waters of the Bras d’Or Lake.
Several people under the age of 10 hit the chilly waters of the Bras d’Or Lake on New Year’s Day for the 2018 Marble Mountain Polar Bear Swim.
After the participants in the 2018 Marble Mountain Polar Bear Swim dried off on the shores of the Bras d’Or Lake, the festivities moved to the North Mountain Cultural and Recreation Association hall for the annual New Year’s Day chili cook-off.
