RCMP investigate fatal ATV collision

LOWER L’ARDOISE: The victim of an ATV collision on Christmas Eve has been identified.

Thirty-eight-year-old Gavin Matthew Sampson of Lower L’Ardoise was found deceased at the scene of the single ATV collision on Highway 347.

Richmond District RCMP responded to the call after 10 p.m. on December 24. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Sampson graduated from St. Peters District High in 1997, and as a driller with Viking Drilling, he worked all over the world, including Iraq, Madagascar, Romania, Papua New Guinea, Jerusalem, and Israel.

Sampson will rest in the Holy Guardian Angels Visitation Chapel on Friday with visitation from 2-8 pm. The funeral will take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Holy Guardian Angels Church in L’Ardoise.
