In 1897 Bertram Bourinot began the Richmond County Record, a periodical that lasted for almost 80 years. Marshall Bourinot worked with his father and continued the paper into the 1970s.

“Arichat: Provincial Examinations were held in the Academy during the week with 51 candidates writing. Paul Doyle, B.A. is Deputy Examiner and was assisted by Wilfred Duann Petit de Grat and Mrs. M.J. Bourinot Arichat.

“St. Peter’s: St. Peter’s Church in St. Peter’s was the scene of a very quiet but pretty wedding recently, when Rev. Joseph Lynch celebrated nuptial mass for his cousin John Bernard who Marie Theresa White as his bride.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Lynch, Union Street Sydney and the bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan A. White, Whiteside, Richmond County.”
