Wilfred Barrett, who just celebrated his 98th birthday, received a pin in recognition of his 35 years with St. Peter’s Legion Branch 47 from Sergeant-At-Arms Charlie Williamson during the branch’s installation of officers on January 13 in Grand Anse.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47 conducted its installation of officers ceremony on January 13 with help from its colour party.

Zone Commander Jackie Hopkins, who served as the installing officer for Branch 47 on January 13, was also recognized during the event and committed to continue assisting the branch.
Legion member Jim George (right) accepted certificates of merit on behalf of himself, his son Carey, daughter-in-law Sue and grandson Jamie from Sgt-at-Arms Charlie Williamson.
Wes Peeples (second from the left), pictured with Charlie Williamson (left), Jackie Hopkins (second from the right) and Sheldon O’Brien (right), was once again installed as the branch president.
Sheldon O’Brien, pictured with Zone Commander and installing officer Jackie Hopkins, was installed as the branch’s service officer.
Past president, and current District Commander Ted Martens was recognized for his continued commitment to Branch 47.
Ladies auxiliary member Linda Buchanan and legion member Donnie Pottie, respectively, were installed as vice preidents.
