The Reporter nominated for Atlantic Journalism Award

HALIFAX: The Atlantic Journalism Awards (AJAs) is pleased to announce the finalists in the 2018 competition.

In the “Best Community Newspaper News Story” category, The Reporter’s Drake Lowthers was nominated for his extensive reporting of the suspicious death of Cassidy Bernard.

Also within the Advocate Media chain, Pat Healey of The Laker in Enfield was nominated in the category of “Excellence in Digital Journalism: Breaking News,” for his aricle on the support give to a Fall River family after a fire.

Halifax Magazine has three nominations: in the “Altantic Magazine” category for Richard Woodbury’s article “Out of the Darkness”; in the category of “Atlantic Magazine-Best Profile” for Maggie Rahr’s “Standing on his Own”; and in the “Entertainment Reporting-Any Medium” category again for Maggie Rahr’s Standing on his Own.”

Saltscapes has two nominations: in the category “Atlantic Magazine-Best Cover” for the Winter 2018 edition; and in the “Atlantic Magazine-Best Profile” category for Jenn Thornhill’s “Verma’s Half a Century a Fisherman.”
