L’ARDOISE: On July 7, the L’Ardoise General Store celebrated a grand re-opening under new ownership. It’s now being rebranded as Cotie Convenience.
In June, Michelle Cotie of Lower L’Ardoise purchased the business, which is located near the busy fishing area of Little Harbour. A long-time employee of the store, Cotie took the reins with confidence.
Approximately 60 people showed up on a sunny Saturday afternoon to enjoy free hot dogs, cake and drinks to celebrate. Cotie was assisted in the ribbon cutting by several staff members and her nephew, Liam Madden.
The store employs up to five people from the local area year round and has become an important contributor to the community.
