As part of Friday morning’s announcement at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre concerning a transfer of six acres of nearby land from the provincial Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal to the Town of Port Hawkesbury, Mayor Brenda Chisholm-Beaton presented Cape Breton-Richmond MLA Michel Samson with a dollar coin to represent the amount the town is paying the province to take control of the property in question.
