ARICHAT: The County of Richmond announced the appointment of Kent MacIntyre as their new Chief Administrative Officer.

A graduate of Saint Mary’s University (MBA), MacIntyre brings a mix of private and public sector leadership experience, having been a CEO of two Nova Scotia companies, an entrepreneur, and most recently,  the general manager of the Saint John Development Corporation in New Brunswick.

In addition, MacIntyre has worked with a Federal Crown Corporation for many years, served a term as Deputy Mayor and Acting Mayor in the former City of Sydney and has experience working with New Brunswick and Nova Scotia governments and the Government of Canada.

MacIntyre began his career at the Cape Breton Development Corporation (CBDC) covering a wide range of operational assignments. After several years with CBDC, MacIntyre moved to Pugwash as the vice-president of operations for Seagull Pewter Ltd., and within two years, became the Chief Executive Officer.

Years later, MacIntyre moved into the position of Chief Executive Officer of Novapet Inc., a post-consumer plastics company in Amherst and before moving to Saint John, he owned and operated his own construction company in Sackville, New Brunswick.

For the last eight years as general manager with the Saint John Development Corporation, he has been  involved with economic development, investment attraction, retail/commercial/residential property management and development, as well as public place-making projects and design/planning for significant community development initiatives.
