Driver with children in vehicle clocked at 157 km/h

ANTIGONISH:At 3 p.m. on December 9, a member of RCMP Eastern Traffic Services observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed on Highway 104.

The vehicle was clocked at 157 kilometres an hour (km/h) in an 100 km/hr zone, 57 km/hr over the posted speed limit. The driver had two young children in the vehicle and was driving with a revoked license.

The 32-year-old man from Dartmouth was charged for stunting and driving while revoked, under the Provincial Motor Vehicle Act. His license has been suspended for seven days and his vehicle was seized. The fine for stunting in Nova Scotia is $2,422.50.
