Community Legion branch 150 celebrates 60th anniversary By Port Hawkesbury Reporter - November 1, 2016 Facebook Twitter Pinterest WhatsApp Anthony Landry presented Alcide Landry with a plaque commemorating his 60 years of membership with branch 150. Branch 150 president Donald Goyetche and legion members Frank Rideout and Jerry Doiron presented a plaque to Lorenzo Boudreau to commemorate his 60 years of membership to branch 150. Legion members Frank Rideout and Jerry Doiron presented a plaque to Mort McGrath to commemorate his 60 years of membership. Fred Martel (second from the left) and Alcide Landry (second from the right) were presented with 60-year legion membership plaques. Both men have been very active legionnaires volunteering their services over many years. In Martel’s case, he served as branch 150 president for 18-plus years, as well as building committee chair. Presenting them with the honours were branch 150 president Donald Goyetche (left) and Cape Breton-Richmond MLA Michel Samson (right). Jack Goyetche presented Paul Samson with his Life Membership to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150. Branch 150 secretary/treasurer Joan Clannon presented a token of appreciation to Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command president Steve Wessel and his wife Marsha. Ladies auxiliary president Vivian Short (right) accepted a Certificate of Recognition from Cape Breton District A presented by District Commander Ted Martens. District Commander Ted Martens presented a Certificate of Recognition from Cape Breton District A to branch 150 president Donald Goyetche.
