HALIFAX: The Town of Mulgrave has applied to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board (UARB) under section 395 of the Municipal Government Act to dissolve town status and become a part of the Municipality of the District of Guysborough.

The hearing will start on Monday, March 20, at 9:30 a.m. at the Mulgrave Fire Hall at 385 Murray Street in Mulgrave. An evening session will take place on March 20 at 7 p.m. at the fire hall.

There will be another evening session on Tuesday, March 21 at 7 p.m. at the Guysborough Municipal Office at 33 Pleasant Street in Guysborough.

The dates of March 21-23 have also been reserved for the hearing.

All members of the public are entitled to attend the hearing but anyone wishing to speak must notify the Board in writing of their intention no later than Tuesday, March 7 by forwarding a letter to the clerk of the board.

Anyone wishing to make comments in writing must do so by forwarding a letter to the clerk by Tuesday, March 7.
