L’ARDOISE: The Dr. Kingston Memorial Community Health Centre Board and staff are pleased to welcome Dr. Kristen Iverson to the Dr. Kingston Memorial Community Health Centre.
Originally from Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Dr. Iverson selected the community health centre for its rural location, state-of-the-art equipment and welcoming community.
“Salt Spring Island is quite rural, the entire island has a population of just over ten thousand and is only accessible by ferry,” said Dr. Iverson. “It was great growing up there, I so appreciate the sense of community that is unique to small towns.”
Dr. Iverson received her Medical Degree from the University of Manchester in England, through a joint program with the University of St. Andrews School of Medicine in Scotland.
“We are very pleased to have Dr. Iverson as part of our community health centre team, and look forward to Dr. Iverson helping us reach even more members of our communities as we work towards our vision of ‘healthy people, healthy communities,’” said Dorothy Barnard, board chairman, Dr. Kingston Memorial Community Health Centre.
With a goal of returning to practice in Canada, Dr. Iverson completed her training and Family Medicine residency in Moncton through Dalhousie University.
“I am excited to be working at the Dr. Kingston Memorial Community Health Centre, and happy to have the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful community,” said Dr. Iverson.
