ST. PETER’S: Find your inner Pirate during St. Peter’s Pirate Days, an annual event, taking place from September 14-18 in St. Peter’s. Four days of fun activities for all ages makes Pirate Days a must do event for everyone.

“It is the 5th annual celebration of Pirate Days in St. Peter’s and every year, it continues to double in size,” said Danielle Sampson, chair of St. Peter’s Pirate Days Committee. “We invite all visitors to join us for this celebration and we even have confirmation of pirates coming from as far away as Ireland this year.”

The weekend starts off for adults on Thursday with Trivia night at MacBouch Tavern. Stepping back in History on Friday, September 15, at 5 p.m., with the Fortress of Louisbourg at National Historic Site, the St. Peter’s Canal, to help kick off the activities scheduled throughout the weekend.

This event started as a small backyard party celebrating International Talk Like a Pirate Day which is on September 19 each year.  This event has gained popularity and this year, the organizers are expecting more people and more participation!

‘Visitation to Cape Breton Island continues to grow.  It is unique festivals and events like Pirate Days in St. Peter’s that are providing experiences that are helping attract and keep visitors on the island longer,’ explained Mary Tulle, CEO, Destination Cape Breton Association.
