Battery Park to be spruced up

ST. batterypark2PETER’S: Government is planning to invest $400,000 in upgrades at Battery Provincial Park in Richmond County.

The upgrades are part of a multi-year parks improvement plan and will include electricity to 20 campsites, a new water system and dish washing station. There will also be a new building for administrative services.

“Battery Provincial Park has had a tremendous season, with more visitors and local park users enjoying its campsites and beautiful water views than ever before,” said Cape Breton-Richmond MLA Michel Samson.

This year, the provincial park saw 2,369 campsite bookings, an increase of 820 from 2015. This is an increase of 53 per cent.

Located next to St. Peter’s Bay and the Bras d’Or Lake, Battery Provincial Park, has 56 campsites, a beach and walking trails with water views.
