It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Adeline Cameron (née DeCoste), 78, of Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia. Adeline passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. Adeline was born on July 18, 1940, in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
She was raised in Havre Boucher and has lived in Port Hawkesbury for the last 25 years. Adeline was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, watching soap operas, and the occasional visit to the casino. Adeline had an infectious laugh, a vibrant personality, and will be dearly missed by all.
Adeline is survived by her children, Gordon Cameron, Sydney, and Blaise Cameron (Liz), Port Hawkesbury. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole) Cameron, Melissa (Brian) Campbell, Caitlin (John Angus) Cameron, Jessica (Brandon) Myalls, and Amanda Cameron. She is also survived by her eight great grandchildren, Easton, Ella, Grace, Seth, Charli, Marjorie, Clark and Blake.
Adeline was one of ten children. She is survived by her four sisters, Dolly (Jack) Fraser, Barbara, Teresa (Dennis), and Rita (Philip). She is also survived by her three brothers, Joe, Gerard (Sandy), and Mike; and her two brother-in-law’s, Louie and Arthur. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Adeline was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Margaret DeCoste; sisters, Aggie, Kathleen and Patricia; and daughter-in-law, Marjorie.
Resting in St. Paul’s Centre, Havre Boucher with visitation Wednesday May 15th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday, May 16th at 11 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church, Havre Boucher with Rev. Allan MacPhie presiding. Donations can be made to Diabetes Canada, or St. Paul’s Cemetery Fund.
