BOYLSTON: The Chedabucto Curling Club is nearing the conclusion of an expansion/renovation to its 55-year-old facility.
The expansion included the addition of a new entrance, a new open-concept coat/kit bag area, and two new wheelchair-accessible washrooms.
The renovations to the existing clubhouse involved the removal of the former washrooms, upgrades to the facility’s electrical system, installing two new doorways, replacement of three inside doors, and modernizing the kitchen and bar. With that, there will be the addition of insulation and siding to the ice-area’s exterior walls.
The construction funds are being pursued via contributions from current and former members, community and business supporters, fund-raising activities and financial contribution from the Municipality of the District of Guysborough.
