INVERNESS COUNTY: Members of Inverness District RCMP recently arrested three people on drug charges following two separate matters.
On July 21, at around 8:30 p.m., a traffic stop in Inverness on Highway 19 resulted in the seizure of Hydromorphone. The 25-year-old male driver of the vehicle was arrested and is facing charges of possession of Hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking. He was later released and is scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court in September.
On July 24, at approximately 5 p.m., RCMP searched a home in Port Hawkesbury and seized Oxycodone, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. A 54-year-old man and 53-year-old woman were arrested and are facing charges of possession of Oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking Oxycodone. Both were later released and will appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court at a later date.
