MacLennan-Dunphy to read from Never Speak of This Again

INVERNESS: On August 19, newly published local author Brenda MacLennan-Dunphy will read from her first novel Never Speak of This Again at the Inverness County Center for the Arts. The event runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

People may be aware of MacLennan-Dunphy’s past work through her plays John Archie and Nellie, The Weddin Dance, Displacement and The Reiteach.

The novel, based around the story of John Archie and Nellie, begins with Nellie’s story, and follows her to Boston where she deals with her “trouble.”

MacLennan-Dunphy will be joined in the afternoon by two other local authors who are also in the Pottersfield Press catalogue this year, Anne Levesque and Frank Macdonald.

Levesque and Macdonald will read a sample of their works, and Lisa Cameron, a local singer-songwriter and the actor who played Nellie in the play, will sing as well.

Alice Freeman from the Bear Paw Gift Shop will be on site with books to sell.

Refreshments will be served and all are welcome.

MacLennan-Dunphy will also be at the Indigo Store in the Antigonish Mall on Wednesday, August 15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for a book signing.
