PHAST athletes hit the water

PORT HAWKESBURY: Port Hawkesbury Antigonish Swim Team (PHAST) age group swimmers were deployed across the province on the weekend of May 4 with three AAA swimmers recording impressive finishes at Dalplex and 11 AA swimmers making waves at the Acadia pool in Wolfville.

AA action in Wolfville saw the following swimmers hit the water.

Hannah Austen placed first in the 100m and 200m Breaststroke, and the 200m Medley; second in the 50m Breaststroke and the 100m Freestyle; fourth in the 200m Freestyle; and sixth in the 50m Freestyle.

Baileigh Bekkers placed fourth in the 100m Breaststroke and the 100m Butterfly; and fifth in the 50m Breaststroke.

Mallory Bekkers placed third in the 50m Breaststroke; fifth in the 200m Breaststroke; seventh in the 50m Backstroke and the 200m Medley; eighth in the 200m Freestyle.

Chase Cooper took first in the 50m Backstroke, 50m and 100m Freestyle; second in the 100m Breaststroke; fourth in the 200m Medley; fifth in the 100m Backstroke; and sixth in the 200m Freestyle.

Emma Crispo placed second in the 50m and 100m Breaststroke, and second in the 200m Breaststroke.

Sophie Hannah swam to second in the 50m Butterfly; third in the 50m Backstroke; fifth in the 200m Freestyle and 200m Medley; sixth in the 50m Breaststroke; and seventh in the 50m Freestyle.

Oliver Long placed second in the 100m Freestyle; fourth in the 200m Freestyle; fifth in the 50m Backstroke, and 100m Backstroke; and seventh in the 200m Medley.

Olivia Langley placed eighth in the 400m Medley.

Lily MacLean swam to second in the 50m and 100m and 200m Breaststroke; third in the 100m Freestyle and 200m Medley; fifth in the 50m Freestyle; and sixth in the 200m Freestyle.

Matthew Penner placed first in the 100m, 200m Breaststroke, and 100m Butterfly.

Jacob Pinkohs placed first in the 50m Breaststroke and 200m Freestyle; second in the 50m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly; third in the 50m Freestyle; fourth in the 100m Butterfly; and seventh in the 200m Medley.

In Halifax, the AAA squad saw Aidan Doucet take first in the 50m Backstroke; third in the 100m Butterfly and the 200m Medley; fifth in the 200m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly; and eighth in the 100m Breaststroke and 50m Freestyle.

Lily Poffenroth placed sixth in the 100m Freestyle and eighth in the 50m Backstroke.

Anna Robinson placed fourth in the 100m and 400m Freestyle; fifth in the 200m Backstroke; and seventh in the 200m.

PHAST is looking forward to hosting AA Spring Champs in Antigonish on June 8-10.
