Port Hastings man dies, Auld’s Cove woman taken to hospital

PICTOU COUNTY: The driver of a motorcycle died and his passenger was sent to hospital with serious injuries following a collision with a truck early Sunday morning on Highway 104.

At 12:30 a.m. this morning, Pictou District RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision involving a Dodge Ram truck and a Harley Davidson motorcycle on Highway 104 in Telford.

The collision claimed the life of a 52-year-old man from Port Hastings who was operating the motorcycle. The passenger on the motorcycle, a 35-year-old woman from Auld’s Cove, was transported by EHS to the QEII with serious injuries. The two occupants of the truck were not injured.

An RCMP collision analyst attended the scene and the road remains closed this morning. The investigation is continuing.
