EAST TRACADIE: A Monastery man has been identified as the victim of a fatal collision that happened in Antigonish County earlier this month.
According to Jennifer Clarke, RCMP public information officer, a 55-year-old man from Monastery, died in hospital following a single vehicle collision off East Tracadie Road on April 3.
Clarence Joseph Boudreau, died April 4 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax. Antigonish District RCMP responded to a 911 call at 8:19 a.m., they located Boudreau, who was alone in his full-size pickup truck after going off the road north bound.
Police say Boudreau was resuscitated at the scene, and transported by paramedics to St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish with serious injuries before being transported to Halifax, where he later died.
An RCMP collision analyst was called to the scene, resulting in the closure of the road for several hours. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
