STRAIT AREA: The Strait Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting local business leaders, professionals, and community members to tee off this summer in a new and engaging way.
The chamber has launched the Networking Nine Series – a four-part, nine-hole golf and networking experience designed to bring people together in a relaxed, scenic setting. With stops at some of Cape Breton’s most breathtaking golf courses, the series aims to blend business with pleasure, encouraging connections both on and off the fairway.
“We’re always looking for interesting and engaging ways to bring the membership together and we have some excellent golf courses in our own backyard,” Chamber President Jeremy Carroll told The Reporter in an emailed statement. “The Networking Nine Series is a chance for members and friends of the Chamber to experience these beautiful courses, and we encourage all to join us and take advantage of the series to build their network and have some fun on the course this summer.”
Each event includes nine holes of golf – with cart included, except at Cabot Links – followed by an evening social from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., complete with light finger foods and a cash bar. The networking socials are open to all – not just the golfers – ensuring everyone has a chance to take part.
The Networking Nine Series will kick off on July 31 at Bell Bay Golf Club in Baddeck, with a post-game social hosted at Inverary Resort and sponsored by Big Spruce.
The second event takes place on Aug. 14 at Le Portage Golf Club in Chéticamp, sponsored by Cabot Trail Furniture.
On Aug. 28, participants will gather at Cabot Links in Inverness, a walking-only course, with sponsorship provided by Scotiabank and Brela Homes.
The series will conclude on Sept. 11 at The Lakes Golf Club in Ben Eoin.
Registration is $50 plus tax per person per event, and space is limited. Those interested are encouraged to register early to secure a spot.

The Chamber extends a special thanks to media sponsors 101.5 The Hawk and The Reporter for supporting the series.
Whether you’re a scratch golfer or just enjoy the social side of the sport, the Networking Nine Series offers a fun, local way to build connections and enjoy the best of summer in Cape Breton.
