PETIT-DE-GRAT: A cheque for nearly $9,000 was presented by residents of Lundrigan Lane in Petit-de-Grat, to a local organization called The Angel Fund, who support residents of Isle Madame and Louisdale facing life altering and life-threatening illnesses.
Each year, over the holidays, a local group of residents from Lundrigan Lane in Petit-de-Grat, transform their lane into a festival of lights. The event is becoming more known and visited by community members and the organizers decided to support a local cause with this year’s festive light show.
Community members who visited the site offered up donations, the total amount received was $8,725.50 and was presented to the Angel Fund group on Jan. 14.
Chair of the board at the Angel Fund, Norma Boudreau said despite the weather, it was nice to see how the community came together to support a good cause.
“It was just unbelievable the amount of money that was donated,” she said. “It was absolutely amazing to see everyone come out, and then to get such a big donation for such a great cause.”
The Angel Fund is a not-for-profit and recently gained charitable tax status. The organization formed in 2019, out of an expressed need for local money to remain in the community to offer financial support to patients at home and undergoing treatments.
